Dr. Katrina Brouwer
DDS
Dr. Brouwer joined Mumford Family Dental in 1995 and was mentored by its founder, Dr. Bill Larder. Dr. Kate completed her Bachelor of Science at Saint Mary's University in 1991 after graduating from Saint Patrick's High School in 1988. She enjoys many disciplines of family dentistry, esthetic dentistry and participating in continuing dental education and is a member of the AIM4 Excellence Study Club. In her spare time, Kate likes walking her Labradoodle, reading and puttering around her yard. Her assistant Cecelia has been with her since 2009 and exudes kindness to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Melanie Moore
DDS
Dr. Moore joined the practice in 1998 after graduating from Dalhousie University. She enjoys being in partnership with her sister, Dr. Kate at Mumford Family Dental. She also enjoys being a family centered dentist as well, with an emphasis on prevention and regularly attends continuing dental education courses. In her spare time, Dr. Mel loves to cook, spend time with her husband and two lovely children. She participates in music at her church, plays a few instruments of her own and listens to music of just about any genre. Her new assistant Nakita has been a great addition to our team with a wonderful caring personality that is sure to put you at ease in her chair.
Dr. Meredith Lowe
DDS
Dr. Lowe is a native of the HRM, born and raised in Timberlea, NS. After graduating from high school, she attended Dalhousie University and completed course work toward a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology. Meredith has always wanted to pursue a career in dentistry and was accepted to the program early, after completing 3 years of her undergraduate, Dr. Lowe obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Dalhousie and graduated with distinction, as well as several academic awards. Meredith enjoys all areas of general dentistry and is committed to providing quality patient care and education. In her spare time, Meredith enjoys running, cooking and spending time with her friends and family. As a lover of nature, she enjoys weekends at the family cottage in Linden, NS with her hubby and their 2 active little boys
Dr. Jasmeen Kaur
DDS
Dr. Kaur was born and raised in India. She obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgeon degree from India in 2003. Dr. Kaur moved to Canada with her family in 2010 and pursued the qualification process for internationally trained dentists in Canada. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University in 2019. Following her DDS, she completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) in 2020 at Dalhousie. During her residency, she gained advanced training in general dentistry, emphasizing surgery, hospital dentistry, medically complex patients, medical emergencies, sedation and public health. She is currently a part-time clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentisty at Dalhousie, educating the next generation of dentists. Dr. Kaur emphasizes comprehensive dental care with a focus on preventative care. She is a firm believer in the delivery of ethical, comprehensive care and patient education. Dr. Kaur lives in Halifax with her husband and two young girls. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and explores the great outdoors of our province.
Darlene Dagley-Banfield
Practice Manager
Darlene has been a devoted team member to our clinic since February of 1997 and was promoted to Practice Administrator in 2013. Born in Bridgewater, Darlene moved to the HRM in her teens and in 1977 she graduated from Sir John A MacDonald High with a diploma in Business Administration. In her spare time Darlene likes to relax on her horse property in the valley, travel, explore new restaurants or wineries with her husband and spend quality time with family and friends.
Caroline Fifield
Administration Manager
Caroline was added to our team in March of 2021. A born and raised Haligonian she comes to us with an extensive background in dentistry and business management. Caroline obtained her BA from Mount Saint Vincent and her Diploma in Health Services Administration from Dalhousie University. With her compassion and pleasant personality she strives to accommodate all your scheduling needs as well as your insurance and financial concerns. In her spare time Caroline enjoys spending time with family and heading to the woods with her fiancé to go camping and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of nature.
Julia Hussey
Business Assistant
Julia joined our admin team in January of 2021. Julia is originally from Newfoundland but spent most of her life growing up in Windsor, NS until her studies at Memorial University took her back home for a brief couple years. Julia came to us with an extensive background in customer service and enjoys making sure our patients are well taken care of. Jullia's training also includes helping with sterilization of instruments when she is not found at the front desk. Julia enjoys spending time in both provinces and during the summer can be found jigging cod in her hometown of Woody Point. Julia enjoys playing hockey throughout the season and in her free time she can be found spending time with her fiance Nick and their cat Tibby.
Roma McNeil
RDH Hygienist
Roma has been a loyal team member since October 2001 and is head of our Hygiene Department. Roma graduated from Dalhousie in 1980 with her Dental Hygiene Diploma. She was born and raised in PEI and moved to Nova Scotia to pursue her hygiene career shortly after graduating. She is an active member of the Canadian Dental Hygienist Association, WHMIS, and CPR certified. Roma's years of experience brings many loyal patients to her chair. When Roma is not working at the dental clinic she enjoys going to the gym, walking her dog and spending time with her husband and 2 wonderful children.
Gail Hernandez
RDH Hygienist
Gail joined our team in May of 2008. Gail was born in Manila, Philippines and raised in Halifax. Gail completed a BSc degree in Chemistry, before graduating from Dalhousie University in 2008 with a diploma in Dental Hygiene. Along with WHMIS and CPR certification, Gail is an active member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association as well as the Halifax Dental Hygiene Society. Her caring personality and ability to talk to children at their level is a compliment to our hygiene department. Beyond working in the clinic, Gail enjoys travelling, spending quality time with family and friends and is an avid hockey fan.
Kim Stade
RDH Hygienist
Kim joined our team in 2004. Kim was born and raised in Miramichi, NB. After attending Mount Allison University, Kim moved to Halifax to obtain her Diploma in Dental Hygiene at Dalhousie University. Along with WHMIS, CPR/First Aid certification, she is an active member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association and the College of Dental Hygienists of Nova Scotia. Kim’s compassion and outgoing personality allows her to readily connect with her patients. In her spare time Kim loves to spend time with her family and friends, as well as staying fit through competitive swimming, going to the gym and trying to keep up with her two active daughters.
Melanie Janes

Melanie joined our team in June of 2013. Melanie was born in Halifax and lives in Lakelands with her husband and 2 very energetic children. She is an active member of the Canadian Dental Hygienist Association, WHMIS, and CPR. Her caring personality and attention to detail is an asset to our practice. When Melanie is not working in the clinic she is spending time with family and trying patiently to entertain her very active son and sweet little girl.
Helene Scott
RDH Hygienist
Helene joined our team in September of 2019 as a part time hygienist. She comes to us from Cape Breton and attended the University of Cape Breton in her earlier years. Helene then moved to Halifax to obtain her diploma in dental hygiene of which she graduated in 2003. Helene also teaches at NSCC so her attention to detail and great personality makes sure our patients are comfortable in her care. When Helene is not teaching or taking care of our patients she enjoys painting, reading and socializing with family and friends especially with her little girl who keeps her on her toes.
Karlie Mcinnis
RDH Hygenist
Karlie recently joined our team in August of 2022. She is proudly from Cape Breton and finished her Bachelor of Science degree from Cape Breton University in 2019, where she double majored in Biology and Psychology. Karlie then moved to Halifax to complete her Diploma in Dental Hygiene at Dalhousie University for 2022. Karlie is thrilled with her new career as a dental hygienist and is very passionate about educating her patients and providing great dental care as well as working with children to provide them with a pleasant and fun experience at the dentist. When Karlie is not working at the clinic she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going home to Cape Breton to visit and cuddling with her puppy Teddy.
Cecelia Redden

Cecelia joined our team in December 2009. "CeCe" was born and raised in the HRM and now resides in the valley. CeCe studied dental assisting at NSCC in Halifax and graduated in 2009. She is a very compassionate, caring and fun loving individual who will keep you at ease when in her operatory. CeCe is an active member of the Canadian Dental Assistants Association, WHMIS (our practice WHMIS coordinator) and CPR. When CeCe is not working at the clinic or putting together a power point for WHMIS, she enjoys spending time with her family and a nice walk with Allie her Boxer.
Pam Anthony
RDA
Pam first joined our team in 2007 but later on decided to pursue a teaching career at the NSCC for dental assistants. Pam took her dental assisting course at NSIT and graduated in 1981. Pam still works at NSCC part time and has returned to our practice part time. Pam is a compassionate, caring, organized individual who will make sure you are at ease while in her operatory. When Pam is not working in the clinic or teaching at NSCC, she enjoys sewing and spending time with her family and friends when she is not entertaining her active puppy, Kasey!
Haley Richard
RDA Assistant to Dr. Moore
Haley joined our team in October of 2023. Born and raised in Halifax, her love for dentistry started by going through orthodontic treatment and Oral Maxillofacial surgery herself. She graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at NSCC institute of Technology in 2018 and has been dedicated to taking care of patients dental needs since then. Haley is a real people person with a super friendly personality that shows empathy and kindness toward others which makes her a great fit on our team. Outside of dentistry, Haley enjoys painting and drawing, walking trails with her 3 year old energetic Bullmastiff Pit, Millie, and spending time with family at the cottage. Haley is CPR, WHMIS and first aid certified and looks forward to making your dental visit a fun and comforting experience.
Anne Ritter
Steri/Admin
Anne joined our team in August of 2023. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, she happily returned in 1998, after sampling living across Canada. She came to us with 25 years of administration experience while working in the dental lab industry. Anne is a muchly appreciated gift to our team who is willing to jump in wherever we need her. She thoroughly enjoys running our sterilization department in a precise manner with attention to detail. She is proficient at the front desk and willing to help out as a level I assistant where needed. Whatever the team needs, Anne is there with a smile ready and willing to help. When Anne is not taking care of us, you will most likely find her off to the barn with her daughter spending time with their horse Mikey or out on the ocean on her stand up paddleboard
